At Forest Medical Aesthetics we offer face to face appointments to discuss your treatment; if appropriate with Botulinum toxin A. Only licensed and prescribed products from a reputable pharmacy will be used.
How do Anti-Wrinkle Injections Work?
Anti-wrinkle injections target the muscles responsible for wrinkles, which develop due to recurrent movement.
How Long Does the treatment last?
Following an appropriate consultation, the actual treatment typically takes no longer than 15 minutes. Results are noticeable from around 5-14 days with a complimentary review offered between days 14-21 to make any necessary adjustments.
Results vary between individuals but on average most people will have results lasting around 3 months. It is recommended to have repeat treatments every 3-4 months however we can discuss your treatment plan in more detail in clinic.
Aftercare:
Aftercare advice will be given to ensure the best results and avoid complications.
Avoid lying down for 4 hours post-treatment.
Do no exercise for the rest of the day.
Do not massage the treated area for 3 days.
Avoid extreme temperatures (saunas, steam rooms) for 3 days.
Safe sun exposure and always apply SPF.
Contraindications:
Not everyone is a candidate for anti-wrinkle injections, the treatment should be avoided if:

At Forest Medical Aesthetics we use the award winning products PLINEST and NEWEST from Mastelli. You can be reassured these products contain high concentrations of Polynucleotides, delivering excellent results, supported by multiple clinical studies.
What are polynucleotides and how do they work?
Polynucleotides are the latest revolutionary injectable in regenerative medicine. They work on a cellular level to repair tissue and boost skin quality.
In the form of polymerised polynucleotide-based injectable gels, polynucleotides work by stimulating fibroblasts which encourages cell turnover, improves elasticity, boosts collagen production and hydrates skin thanks to powerful wound-healing polymers.
Polynucleotides also calm inflammation and rebalance melanocyte activity to create an even and refreshed skin tone.
Who can be treated with Polynucleotides?
Polynucleotides are a safe and effective treatment for almost all people and are beneficial for a wide range of skin concerns. They can be used almost anywhere on the face and body, and offer a particularly good option for patients who are not suitable for tear trough filler.
If you have fine lines and wrinkles, loss of elasticity, red, sensitive skin, Rosacea and/or scarring or dark under eyes then you could be an excellent candidate for this treatment.
How many treatments will I need?
For optimum results it is suggested that an initial course of 3 treatments is carried out 2-4 weeks apart.
When will I see results of my treatment?
Patients can expect to see results after approximately three weeks which will last six to nine months on average, results continue to improve over time as the product focuses on tissue repair.
What is the downtime following a treatment?
Following treatment you will have small, visible bumps which will settle after a few hours but it is advisable to avoid booking treatment on the day/day before a social event.

What are Skin Boosters?
Skin Boosters are an injectable hyaluronic acid that acts as an internal moisturiser to hydrate the skin, improve the skin quality and give the skin an overall ‘boost’
Which products are used?
At Forest Medical Aesthetics we stock 3 different skin boosters.
Profhilo
The first of its kind, Profhilo is a revolutionary ‘beneath the skin’ hyaluronic acid (HA) moisturising injectable treatment, made with the patented NAHYCO® technology. This results in a unique hyaluronic acid injectable gel, which has a prolonged stimulating activity on the dermal cells helping with fine lines and signs of ageing.
Sisthaema
SISTHAEMA HEVO-T is an intra-dermic injectable hydrogel, featuring a breakthrough and patented combination of hyaluronic acid and trehalose.
Phormae
Phormae features Selective Spectrum Technology (SST), an advanced manufacturing procedure that identifies ranges of molecular weights with different spatial arrangements, thus selecting the most suitable ones for the target (bio-regeneration), maximising the effectiveness of the final product
How long does the treatment take and what is the downtime?
Following an appropriate consultation and application of numbing cream the injections will take around 5-10 minutes. You will have small bumps present immediately post treatment which will settle over the course of a few hours and should not be noticeable by the following day.
Which areas can be treated?
Most commonly used on the face, skin boosters can also be administered to improve the skin in other areas such as your neck and hands.
How many treatments will I need?
We recommend two treatments 4 weeks apart initially. After this, maintenance treatment sessions can be spaced out every 6-8 months but your treatment goals and plan can be discussed and individualised in clinic.

What is Microneedling?
Also known as collagen induction therapy, Microneedling is a minimally invasive technique that creates thousands of epidermal microcanals that allow substances to pass through the horny layer of the skin, while simultaneously producing dermoepidermal biostimulation, incrementing the activity of the drug substances.
At Forest Medical Aesthetics we will use serums targeted to your skin concerns, the M Pen device will then be used as part of a facial, the pen has lots of tiny needles which vibrate, the procedure should not be painful and the depth will be adjusted based on your skins response to treatment.
What to expect after the treatment?
It’s normal to experience certain side effects after a microneedling procedure.
Your skin can be flushed and a little red when you leave your visit (like a mild sunburn) Within 24-48 hours, the majority of the redness will have resolved. Peeling, flaking and breakouts are possible but full aftercare advise will be given in clinic.
The majority of the visible healing after microneedling takes place in the first couple of days following treatment, however healing will continue beneath the skin’s surface for up to two months. By taking good care of your skin, side effects may be reduced.

What is a chemical peel?
A chemical peel is a procedure in which a chemical solution is applied to the skin to remove the very top layers. The skin that grows back is smoother. At Forest Medical Aesthetics we offer a light or medium peel, you may need to undergo the procedure more than once to get the desired results.
Chemical peels are used to treat wrinkles, discoloured skin and scars — usually on the face. They can be done alone or combined with other treatments in clinic or at home.
What to expect?
Whilst some light peeling is expected, you will not peel significantly and will be able to go about your day as normal. You may be slightly red immediately after the treatment.
The treatment is not painful and you will feel some slight warmth which resolves quickly.
When to have a chemical peel?
Your skin will be more sensitive to the sun initially and it is not advisable to have a chemical peel prior to significant sun exposure therefore please do not book before a holiday. Due to this, the best time to get the most from a course of chemical peels is in the Autumn and Winter months.
Mesopeel
At Forest Medical Aesthetics we used a range of peels from Mesoestetic, a full consultation is always carried out and the type of acid used it based on your skin type and desired results.
